Sometimes the smallest gesture says the most. A thank you gift is a way to show someone that their kindness, help or hospitality did not go unnoticed. Our thank you gifts collection at Mikolia brings together thoughtful, elegant pieces that are easy to give and lovely to receive, from scented candles and reed diffusers to ceramic ornaments, small vases and pretty porcelain. Most are under £30, so you can say thank you beautifully without overspending.
Whether you are looking for thank you gifts for teachers, a gift for your host, a present for a helpful colleague or a token of appreciation for a neighbour or friend, you will find a thoughtful idea here.
Scented Candles and Reed Diffusers
A scented candle is the classic thank you gift: easy to choose, easy to love and welcome in any home. The Three Wick Scented Candle in Tortoiseshell Glass glows a warm amber when lit, while the Three Wick Scented Candle in White Speckled Glass has a softly flecked glass that suits lighter interiors. Both have three wicks for an even burn and arrive boxed. The White and Silver Geometric Scented Candle has a glossy white finish wrapped in a silver lattice pattern, so it looks beautiful even before it is lit.
For a gift that lasts for weeks, a reed diffuser fills a room with scent without a flame. The English Pear and Freesia Reed Diffuser has a fresh, softly floral scent in white speckled glass and comes in a gift box, and the White and Silver Geometric Reed Diffuser arrives filled and boxed, ready to use. Thank You Gifts for Teachers
An apple for the teacher is a tradition with a stylish twist. The Stone and Gold Ceramic Apple Ornament 11cm has a matt stone grey finish with a polished gold stem and leaf, and is also available in a larger 16cm size. The Red and Gold Pearlescent Apple Ornament has a high-gloss pearlescent red finish with a gold stem and leaf. Small, affordable and memorable, they make perfect end of term teacher gifts, and a lovely thank you for teaching assistants, nursery staff and tutors too.
For a teacher who loves to read, the Thinker Figurine on Stone Ball has an antique grey-black finish with silver highlights, and looks thoughtful on a classroom shelf or study desk.
Thank You Gifts for Colleagues
When a colleague has gone above and beyond, a small decorative piece for their desk or home is a thoughtful way to say thanks. Our glossy ceramic fruit sculptures, the Green Double Apple, Yellow Double Citrus and Grey Double Pear, bring a cheerful touch to a desk, kitchen or windowsill. They also work well as leaving gifts or a thank you from the whole team.
For a manager, mentor or anyone who has helped you along the way, the Gold Climbing Figures Sculpture says it perfectly: one figure reaching down to help another climb, in ribbed gold over a faceted black column. It is one of the most meaningful thank you gifts in our range.
Thank You Gifts for Hosts
Arriving with a gift is a lovely way to thank someone for having you to stay, hosting a dinner or welcoming you into their home. A scented candle is always a welcome hostess gift, and our Amalfi Lemon porcelain adds a sunny, practical touch: the Amalfi Lemon Porcelain Cup and Saucer Set is a sweet gift for a coffee lover, and the Amalfi Lemon Porcelain Side Plate has a printed lemon motif and a scalloped edge, perfect for cake or biscuits. Small Vases and Decorative Pieces
A small vase is a thank you gift that keeps on giving, ready for the next bunch of flowers. The Frosted White Glass Bottle Vase pairs satin-frosted white glass with a matte black ball stopper, and the Tortoiseshell Glass Bottle Vase brings rich amber and black glass to a shelf or windowsill. For something more playful, the White and Gold Monogram Duffel Bag Vase is a petite ceramic bag with raised motifs picked out in gold.
The White Pedestal Bowl has a matte stone-effect finish and a petal-textured pedestal, a pretty spot for rings, keys or small treasures on a dressing table or console. Browse more ornaments and vases.
Thank You Gift Ideas by Person
Teachers and teaching assistants: a ceramic apple or a scented candle. Colleagues and team members: a double fruit ornament or a reed diffuser. Managers and mentors: the Helping Hand sculpture. Hosts: a candle with the Amalfi cup and saucer. Neighbours and friends: a small glass bottle vase or the pedestal bowl. Carers, nurses and childminders: a scented candle or a reed diffuser, something calming to enjoy at home.
How to Choose a Thank You Gift
Keep it simple and personal. A good thank you gift should feel considered rather than expensive, so think about what the person enjoys: a candle for someone who loves to unwind, a sculpture for a design lover, or a cup and saucer for a coffee lover. Choose neutral colours and classic shapes if you are not sure of their style, as they suit almost any home or desk. And always add a handwritten note, because the words are what make a small gift feel meaningful.
