We hope you love your Mikolia purchase. If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about returning an item, in line with your rights under UK consumer law.

How Do I Return My Order?

Returning an item is simple:

Step 1 -  Get in touch. Email us at hello@mikolia.com or call 0207 183 3871 with your order number and the item you’d like to return. Please do this within 14 days of receiving your order.

Step 2 -  Wait for our instructions. We’ll confirm your return and send you the return address and instructions. Please don’t send anything back before hearing from us, and please don’t send returns to our registered office unless we ask you to.

Step 3 - Send it back. Once you’ve contacted us, you have a further 14 days to return the item. We recommend a tracked, insured delivery service – the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us.

Step 4 - Receive your refund. We’ll inspect the return, confirm it’s been approved and refund your original payment method.

Can I Return an Item If I’ve Changed My Mind?

Yes. You may return most items simply because you’ve changed your mind, as long as you contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. To qualify for a refund, the product must be:

  • Unused and in its original condition

  • Unwashed, unaltered and free from marks or damage

  • Returned with all original packaging, labels, accessories and components

  • Packaged securely to prevent damage during transit

Who Pays for Return Delivery?

If an item is unwanted, unsuitable or was ordered by mistake, you are responsible for the cost of returning it to us.
If you cancel and return your entire order, we’ll refund the cost of our standard delivery service. Any extra amount paid for express, next-day or upgraded delivery will not be refunded, and original delivery charges are not normally refunded when only part of an order is returned.
If your item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, the return will be at no cost to you – see below.

Can I Return Bedding and Textiles?

Yes, within the standard return period, provided the items are:

  • Unused and unwashed

  • Free from marks, stains, odours, pet hair or other signs of use

  • Returned with their original packaging, labels and accessories

Where a product comes with a hygiene seal, we cannot accept returns once the seal has been broken, unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.

Opening ordinary outer packaging to inspect a product doesn’t affect your right to cancel. However, we may reduce your refund if the product has been handled beyond what you would reasonably do when examining it in a shop.

What If My Item Arrives Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect?

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If something is damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery and include:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the problem

  • Clear photographs of the product

  • Photographs of the internal and external packaging

  • Photographs of the delivery label, where relevant

Please keep the item and all packaging until we’ve reviewed your claim. Once confirmed, we’ll offer an appropriate resolution – a replacement, refund or return at no additional cost to you.

The 48-hour reporting request helps us investigate delivery damage and does not affect your statutory rights.

How Should I Package Fragile Items?

Many Mikolia products are delicate or fragile. When returning an item, please use the original protective packaging wherever possible and package it securely.

We may reduce or refuse a refund where damage has occurred because a product was inadequately packaged for its return, subject to your statutory rights.

Which Items Can’t Be Returned?

Unless faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Personalised, bespoke or made-to-order products

  • Gift cards

  • Products that have been used, washed, altered or damaged after delivery

  • Products returned incomplete or without essential components

  • Sealed hygiene-sensitive products after the hygiene seal has been broken, where the applicable legal hygiene exception applies

When Will I Receive My Refund?

We’ll inspect your return once it arrives and let you know when it has been approved.

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item, or of receiving satisfactory evidence that it has been sent back, where applicable. Your bank, card issuer or payment provider may need additional time to place the funds into your account.

We may reduce a refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what would reasonably be permitted when examining the product in a shop.

What if I paid with Klarna?

Follow our standard returns process above. Once your return is approved, we'll register the refund with Klarna, and they'll refund any payments you've made and cancel any remaining instalments. You can also report your return in the Klarna app to pause upcoming payments while it's on its way to us.


Can I Exchange an Item?

We don’t currently offer direct exchanges. If you’d like a different item, size or colour, simply return the original product for a refund and place a new order.

Can I Cancel My Order?

If your order hasn’t been dispatched yet, contact us immediately and we’ll do our best to stop it – although we can’t guarantee cancellation once processing has begun.

If your order has already been dispatched, please follow our standard returns procedure above. Please note that in this case the original delivery cost rules described under “Who Pays for Return Delivery?” will apply.

What Happens If I Refuse or Don’t Collect My Delivery?

If a delivery is refused or not collected and the order is returned to us, we may deduct the delivery fee and any reasonable return or carrier charges from your refund – this covers the cost of delivering the order to you and bringing it back to us.

This does not apply where the order was refused because it was faulty, damaged or incorrect.

My Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory rights under UK consumer law. For most online purchases, customers have the right to notify the retailer of cancellation within 14 days of delivery and then have a further 14 days to return the goods.
